Tomislav Sokol has been an MEP since 2019, representing Croatia. He is a member of the Croatian Democratic Union party and the European People’s Party (EPP) in the European Parliament. Currently, Sokol is Vice-Chair of the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO) and a member of the Subcommittee on Public Health (SANT). In the Parliament, Sokol is closely involved in negotiations on health policy and the EU’s internal market. He is rapporteur on the European Health Data Space regulation and has fought to reduce healthcare disparities and enhance cross-border health cooperation across EU member states. He is also a member of the MEPs Against Cancer Group.
Tomislav Sokol holds a law degree from the University of Zagreb, a Master of Law specializing in European Union Law at the Catholic University of Leuven (KUL), Belgium, and a PhD at KUL, in which he dealt with free movement of cross-border health care services in the EU.
