Accelerating European Competitiveness through Simplification

When:

Wednesday, December 10, 2025

Time:

3:00 PM CEST

Where:

Euronews Headquarters, Rond-point Robert Schuman 6, Brussels

Europe is at a crossroads. In October, 19 Heads of State urged the EU to simplify its regulatory framework, warning that current rules often slow progress instead of enabling it. This event examines how Europe can become more efficient, innovation-friendly, and globally competitive.

We will focus on two priorities:

• Simplifying existing rules through Omnibus packages and “Fitness Check” assessments. The discussion will reference the Digital Omnibus, launched on 19 November.

• Exercising regulatory restraint by limiting new legislation to what is essential, supported by strong impact assessments and the principles of subsidiarity and proportionality.

Join us as we explore how Europe can reduce regulatory burden, strengthen competitiveness, and ensure new rules remain the exception, not the norm.
